Our Amazing Teachers

Lisa Moresco
WE DANCE Founder, Creative Director

Lisa, a lifelong and ardent student of movement, began dancing as a child in her hometown of Boston, MA.  She continued her adult passion studying from the wide variety of dance styles the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer.
She is a committed supporter of the arts and dance having spearheaded fundraisers for the Amara Tabor Smith's Deep Waters Dance Theater,  ODC Theater, Jo Kreiter's Flyaway Productions, sat on the board of Tanya Bello's Project B Dance Company, and founder of Artistry Matters SF, a non-profit that supported San Francisco dancers by producing numerous fundraisers until her departure to Barcelona with her family.
Lisa co-founded and organized We Dance retreats with Talley Webb, a vivacious dancer and community minded leader, in 2015 until Talley's  departure in 2019.

Rena Marie Guidry
Artistic Director, We Dance SF Bay Area

Rena Marie has been an actor and dancer for over 30 years, in both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, salsa, liturgical, and samba. She has done music videos, commercials, and films, has performed in self-produced dance theater productions, and been a part of several theatre ensembles. She has also been a guest performer for both Sambaxe, and the Latin Dance Grooves ensemble. Rena Marie has led high-energy, packed classes with Rhythm & Motion since 2011. She is also a trained Drama Therapist, with a MA in counseling psychology. She uses this training in her artistic work with youth and adults. Rena Marie believes the arts are inherently therapeutic, and can be used to bring about healing and wellness.

Dudley Flores
Dudley believes in creating a dance class environment where movement transcends "the steps" and where focused energy and physicality, passion, a sense of humor and good company, make dance a therapeutic and euphoric release from the day to day.

While studying biology in college and after a year as a passenger service agent for American Airlines at SFO, Dudley started out as a commercial industry dancer (jazz and hip hop) and appeared in large-scale corporate and fashion events, television, commercials, independent and feature films, print ads and behind music artists. Later, his focus turned toward contemporary dance where he performed nationally and internationally with prominent SF-based choreographers and companies including: Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton, Robert Moses' KIN, ODC/Dance, the Printz Dance Project, KT Nelson and others. Now retired from his performance career, he works on the Production Team for the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, is a collaborator with Latin Dance Grooves for Carnaval SF and is the Director, Trainer and an Instructor for Rhythm & Motion, Inc.

Ken Scott
Ken has a strong background in ballet, having studied with the San Francisco Ballet School and Pacific Dance Academy in Los Angeles. He has performed in various shows in the Bay Area ranging from modern and contemporary dance to Broadway, jazz, and hip hop. He has danced abroad with Leyya Tawil’s Dance Elixir, Deborah Slater Dance Theater, North Coast Ballet, Alyce Finwall Dance, Man Dance Company, and Royal Caribbean Productions and has performed in shows include Cats, Cabaret, Altar Boyz, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, City of Dreams, and West End to Broadway among others. Ken is also a certified and registered personal trainer and kinesiologist, and a master fitness educator of multiple formats and practices. Ken has taught for R&M since 2003 and his approach to class centers on not taking oneself too seriously. He believes an overly-analytical approach to dance is like an overly-creative approach to algebra... It just doesn’t work.

Susan Tobiason
Susan began her rigorous ballet training under the direction of Jackie Hepner, Principal of the New York City Ballet and the School of Creative & Performing Arts in San Diego where she studied modern, contemporary, jazz, Brazilian and hip hop. She performed for the San Diego Opera and went on to train with the Pennsylvania Ballet. After falling in love with the Rhythm & Motion Dance program in San Francisco, Susan taught and choreographed for the program for 10 years. She moved to Berlin, Germany in 2018 and is now spending part of her time in Barcelona. Susan has also been teaching Pilates since 2008 -- the original work of Jospeh Pilates & Romana Kryzanowska as well as contemporary Pilates, rehab work and bringing awareness to how Pilates fits into dance. Susan relishes in sharing the love of dance & movement with the community.

Jessica Lutes
Jessica Lutes has been teaching with Rhythm & Motion in San Francisco since 1994 and was part of the team that developed the Modern Rhythms program. She created dance works and performed throughout the 1990s with Paul Benney as a director of OnSite Dance Company, receiving the SF Bay Guardian Goldie Award for dance in 1993. During this period, she also worked with Knee Jerk Dance Project, Gravytrain, and Squad. She currently lives in the Mission with her family and will continue to teach and choreograph for Rhythm & Motion as long as she can.
Jessica explores choreography that encourages movement expression. She views the human kinesthetic experience of dancing with or without music as a breathing, expressive  language. Her choreography for her students is rhythmically coherent but also nuanced, challenging and grounded. She stresses movement efficiency through use of momentum, release, freefall, directional drive, wind and unwind of the spine, all in the service of empowered dancing. The goal is for the dancing experience to transcend the sum of its multiple elements, and this becomes possible when enhanced by dancing together through space in a vitalizing communal environment. Joy, freedom and discovery are to be celebrated!!!
