FAQ's & Contact

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if I don't know how to dance?
You are in the right place! We welcome people in all stages of dance exploration. We believe everyone can move to music, and feel the joy of a body in motion. There are no mirrors, and no one will tell you how to do it "right." Did you try something new? Did you smile and laugh? Did you sweat just a wee bit? Then you've danced!
Do I need to register with a roommate?
Nope. Unless you'd like to. Otherwise we will assign roommates. We can guarantee you will have something in common with your roommate, after all, you've both chosen to spend a time doing something new in a beautiful relaxing place.
What have been your past retreat locations?
Petaluma and Sonoma Counties, California
Barcelona, Spain       London, England          Costa Rica
Mexico City, Mexico         Berlin, Germany
Is this a Rhythm and Motion event?
No. While some of the instructors do teach at Rhythm and Motion, the content for this retreat is not R&M material but  original choreography envisioned  as a way to deepen and strengthen our dancing through fun, 75 min dance workshops created especially for this event by the teachers. We do, however, echo Rhythm and Motion's principle that "anyone can dance."

Testimonials -

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the weekend. Thank you for helping me get oriented, and being so kind and inclusive since this was my first time.  - Zoe

Thank you to all of you for your  hard work and of course to  Dudley, Tony, Rena, Aimee too. It was so perfect. - Sheila

WD CDMX was a cultural blast. We stayed in a gorgeous boutique hotel in Coyoacán, the authentic and old, cobbled streets neighborhood where Frida Kahlo grew up. Mercados, cafes, churches, bookstores, restaurants, and a plaza full of activities such as Aztec dancing and ceremonies. Being from Mexico City, it was powerful to reconnect with my roots through WD's experience.

We learned a few full choreography pieces from the local and WD instructors. They were all beautiful, talented, and patient with us. It was amazing to take a class at the professional dance school at INBA Escuela Nacional de Danza, and at the local space in Coyoacán with its gardens and unique flavor.
As always, with WD, restaurants and other high-end events worked perfectly. I loved dancing and dining in Mexico City under Lisa's lead and can't wait to do it again. - Katia
